News items September 2023 I took part in the Annual Dog Show at Ferne Animal Sanctuary, Chard, Somerset on 3 rd of September. It was a lovely day with lots of people attending. I was demonstrating the process of Needle felting, and as is usual, lots of people were very interested in what I was doing!!! I’m so thrilled to announce that I have won the award for best artist 2023 on the website https://professionaldogbusinessesuk.co.uk/. I will now be entered into the best overall business for 2023. I am in the 16 th category under photographers and artists, so you need to scroll down the page to find the category. I’d really appreciate it if you showed your support to help build my business. I am also pleased to announce that I have been selected to advertise my work in the magazine Dogs Today. This magazine has a readership of over 80,000!!!! It is a real honour to be picked from the thousands of artists out there to have one of 6 spaces available. My advert will be in the September issue. I am pleased to announce that my Rainbow Macaw portrait won first place in the Art section at a local show. It also won the Art Trophy for the best overall entry. This is the same award that I was lucky enough to win last year t oo!!! I had a stall at the show too. I was working on another portrait so that people could see the process. I also presented my Steppe Eagle portrait to our hotel manager in Egypt. I completely underestimated the reaction to the portrait. The manager was thrilled, and invited me to a VIP party, where the portrait had pride of place. Lots of people were asking questions and admiring it. Also, during the holiday, lots of the staff of the hotel, said that they had seen it too. The manager is going to fr ame it and put it behind glass for display. I also worked on two Egyptian dogs whilst around the pool (the best place to felt). I am pleased to say that lots of people who had never heard or seen Needle Felting, now know what it is and lots of people took my card. I also finis hed another portrait of a beautiful Pomeranian dog. Now I only have 4 spaces on my commissions list for delivery before Christmas. I will be beside works by the owner of the gallery Helen Millard. Helen is a glass cameo artist. She makes the most wonderful works of art in glass. If you ever wanted to see my work up close and personal you can pop in and be assured of a very warm welcome.
